Strobosoft?   I'm debating giving it a shot as my computer is in my shop anyway and it is less than half the price of the VS-1 or VS-II.

WOW! Never knew Petersen had developed that! Looks good...I think in comparison to to the vs-I or II it is probably as good. One thing to remember any digital strobe is , IMHO, not going to be as acurate as a "real" time strobe tunner. I use the Petersen Stretch Tunner (Piano Strobe). The reason I believe this, as it was explained to me, is that like L.E.D. tuners a digital strobe is going to have to have beginning and ending parameters for determining what's in tune and what's not. Apparantly the "real" strobe doesn't have this because there are many wheels spinning and you are using your eye to determine the tightest focus / tuning point. I am no expert but, I can say without a doubt, I own a VS-II ( also a VS-I but sold it) and in comparing it to my "Real" tuner the VS-II doesn't stack up. Now don't get me wrong...the vs-II is probably better than almost any needle or l.e.d. out there so buying a VS-II is still way above using the standard fair. But IMHO it is a much better buy to get the real deal. It's a one time buy! You will have it forever and will always know that you are doing the best possible job.

Cool.. I like my VSII because I can carry it anywhere. But the spec look good on this, and if you have good quailty sound card this is bunch cheaper. However you can't send it off to have it calibrated so you are dependent on the audio generator of your sound board.

Thanks for the replies. I went ahead and got the Deluxe version and will give it a try in the next day or so. I am running a SoundBlaster Audigy card and hope it is up to the task.
